Brian Nielsen just spent a year wasting Metro's salary cap and international roster slot. But could he return in 2012?

Nielsen's contract is owned by Red Bull, the company. He is officially on loan from Red Bull Salzburg until the end of this year. However, the Austrians want nothing to do with him anymore.

"We have no discussions about Brian Nielsen. He is not in our plans and we will not have a player from New York. If New York wants him, he is there," Heinz Hochhauser, Salzburg's sporting director, told Tipsbladet.

Nielsen was brought by Red Bull bu Hochhauser's predecessor, Dietmar Beiersdorfer, who was the man responsible for hiring Erik Soler... the man responsible for keeping Nielsen on Metro's roster.
