December 13, 2011
In a talk with reporters, Erik Soler glossed over personnel plans for the coming offseason and beyond. The highlights:
The team wants Frank Rost back, but not as a designated player. They want to pair him with a young goalkeeper.
Tim Ream, currently training in England, will return.
Joel Lindpere's extension was picked up, and the club is working to sign him to a long-term deal.
Rafael Marquez will be back, as a midfielder.
The biggest offseason priority is finding a central defender.
The team hopes to sign a third designated player, an attacking midfielder, during the summer.
