Icelander Victor Palsson claims negotiations
January 22, 2012
A Swede, a Norwegian, a Dane, a Norwegian, an Estonian... What's left to complete our Scandinavian treasure hunt? Well, an Icelander, of course! And here we were, thinking that might be impossible, but who are we to doubt Erik Soler!
According to a chat on Fotbolti, Icelandic Under-21 international Victor Palsson, a free agent, is "more than halfway" in negotiations with Soler, who "flew me over this morning. This is what I want most, and I hope that this goes through. [Thierry] Henry and Rafael Marquez are in this team, of course, this is very exciting."
Palsson spent a part of his youth career at Liverpool, but failed to make a first-team appearance. The defensive midfielder, 20, was last with Hibernian in Scotland.
Last September, Palsson was banned from every bar in Edinburgh for public urination.
Update: According to his Twitter (oh, Twitter!), Palsson if off to New York, and, according to Icelandic website Visir, he is about to sign a two-year-deal with RBNY. The website confirms that the midfielder was recently in Oslo, negotiating with Soler.
