Tyler Ruthven
Ruthven, Arteaga signings claimed
March 3, 2012

There are reports of signed contracts of defender Tyler Ruthven and striker Jhonny Arteaga, officially still only on trial with Metro in Arizona. Ruthven claims that he signed with the club. "Let's make it official," he wrote on Twitter. "Just put pen to paper with the New York Red Bulls. Happy to be here!" Arteaga's deal is being reported by Goal.com.

Ruthven, 23, spent the 2011 season with the NASL's Atlanta Silverbacks, and actually signed a new deal with the club this January. After splitting his college career between the University of San Francisco and South Carolina, he went undrafted in MLS. Prior to going to Atlanta, he played for USL's Harrisburg.

The Colombian-born Arteaga, 25, spent 2011 with USL's FC New York, featuring against Metro in the Open Cup game. His 13 goals in league play led the league. He also played with LKS Lomza in Poland's third division. Arteaga scored two goals for the Metro reserves last year, tallying both in a 2:1 win over the Philly Worms.

Update: SoccerByIves reports that Jose Angulo and Brandon Barklage complete the list of signed trialists.
