The Philadelphia Union Reserves shutout the New York Red Bulls Reserves, winning 2-0 at Lubetkin Field on the campus of NJIT. The Union were led by Antoine Hoppenot, who opened the scoring for Philadelphia, and Jorge Perlaza, who added the insurance goal.

The early attacking efforts of the Union paid off in the 7th minute, as Hoppenot beat Jeremy Vuolo with a shot into the lower right portion of the goal, off an assist from midfielder Roger Torres. Philadelphia almost doubled their lead just a minute later, but Keon Daniel's effort hit against the left post, keeping the score 1-0.

In the 17th minute New York ripped their first shot of the game, but Red Bulls forward Jose Angulo's effort sailed high over the net for a goal kick. Angulo had another chance in the 23rd minute, registering New York's first shot on net, as Union keeper Chase Harrison was there for save on the low shot.

The Red Bulls nearly scored the equalizer in the 34th minute, off a corner kick from midfielder Medhi Ballouchy. New York defender Stephen Keel was unable to find the back of the net, however, sending his header just wide of the right post.

The Union scored their second goal in the 78th minute, when Peralaza headed home a corner from midfielder Zach Pfeffer. The shot beat Vuolo on the right post, increasing the Union lead to 2-0.

New York's final chance on net was stalled when Harrison brought in a cross from Red Bull midfielder Johann Smith in the second minute of stoppage time, securing the shutout.
