Victor Palsson departs
December 31, 2012
Looks like the fate of Victor Palsson has been decided. According to Icelandic radio, the midfielder's contract with RBNY has been cancelled. Palsson has been on loan at NEC Nijmegen since August. The initial loan had been through the entirety of the 2012-13 Eredivisie season, which ends in May. Palsson's new deal with NEC runs through 2016.
"I want to thank New York Red Bulls for my time there," Palsson tweeted. "I know it was short but unfortunately things just didn't work out. Thanks to all the players and staff!"
Palsson played 17 games in all competitions for Metro, making four starts. He collected three yellows and one red card. In 12 games for NEC, he has scored two goals, while continuing consistency with three yellows and one red.
His contract was officially terminated by RBNY on January 4, 2013.
