The New York Red Bulls announced today they came to a deal with defender Digao to mutually agree to cancel his contract.

"We have spoken with Digao over the past couple of weeks and believe that this is the best resolution for all parties involved," said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh. "We want to wish Digao the best of luck in the next stage of his career."

Digão signed with the Red Bulls on September 14, 2012. The Brazilian appeared in one postseason match in 2012 but had not played in the regular season.
