It look to be an end of a wonderful week. Coming off wins over Kansas City and DC, playing on the road at water-clogged Philly, Metro had a late lead. Sure, the Worms were throwing everything at the New York goal, but the final whistle was just a couple of minutes away. But a late foul by Ibrahim Sekagya led to the game-tying penalty kick, with the game ending at 2:2.

The game was delayed for an hour because of the torrential downpour. When the teams kicked off, Metro was in the recently-familiar 4-3-3, with Armando filling in for internationally absent Roy Miller at left back, and Tim Cahill stepping in for the injured Bradley Wright-Phillips at forward.

The first half started with slips, falls, and balls that stopped in puddles. It ended with three goals scored in mere minutes, starting in the 37th. Peguy Luyindula was fouled in the box, and stepped up to the spot in the absence of Wright-Phillips. The Frenchman easily converted to his left.

Three minutes later, Titi Henry took a shot from just outside the box that looked to be saved by the Worms' Zac MacMath. However, the terrible keeper let the ball go off him and into the net to give Metro a two-goal lead. Sadly, that margin was brief, as a minute later, a cross close to the New York net was redirected by Pedro Ribeiro.

Henry was clearly not at 100%, and was subbed out early in the second by Ruben Bover. The Worms brought on their subs as well, and started to control the match. Luis Robles made two spectacular saves, the first on a point-blank by Maurice Edu. The second was on a short-range header by Andrew Wegner. Three points looked to be in the bag...

Until, two minutes into injury time, Sekagya looked to have won a tackle in the box, but the follow-up kick to Ribeiro's leg earned him a penalty kick. Metro rejected Sebastien Le Toux leveled the match, and the final whistle soon sounded.

So much for a wonderful week.

Lineup: Robles, Armando, Olave, Sekagya, Duvall, McCarty, Alexander, Luyindula, Sam, Cahill, Henry. Subs: Bover, Sene.
