Red Bull idiots to transfer Miazga to Leipzig?
January 25, 2015
You heard this spiel from the harebrained Sporting Director Ali Curtis, right? Building with youth? Utilizing our academy? USL team? Blah, blah, blah.
Surely, Matt Miazga will be at the forefront of this movement? Already in his third year with the senior team, he has shown so much potential! And with no central defenders of quality in sight (apologies to Armando and his haircut), this just might be the chance for the youngster to step in!
Oh, it looks like Miazga will step in, alright. And step in for a Red Bull club... just not the one in New York.
According to German website LVZ, Miazga is coming to Qatar to train with RB Leipzig. The player also confirmed the flight to Qatar on his Twitter. Leipzig is looking for a central defender, and here one just randomly fell on their lap! This is the type of synergy we're talking about, right, Red Bull?
Now, before we burst a gasket, let's make it clear that it's not obvious whether this is a sale, a loan, or just training. (However, if it is just training, Red Bull's New York squad reports tomorrow. Shouldn't Miazga be with his teammates?) Alright, let's now blow a gasket.
In case it wasn't clear before, Red Bull "New York" is clearly not the priority of the energy drink. They couldn't give a rat's behind about our team. The German team is close to a Bundesliga promotion. Who cares about some lowly losers in MLS? They have Curtis and his 300-page plan!
Enough is enough, Red Bull.
