Doubleheader ends with Toronto tie, 1:1

Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls battled to a 1-1 draw in a 70 minute scrimmage in Champions Gate, FL on Saturday. Both teams fielded younger lineups with handful of veterans sprinkled into the mix.
The first half produced little in terms of quality chances with both teams sticking to their defensive shape with few issues. The second stanza was a different story, with both sides finding holes that didn't exist earlier.
New York opened the scoring in the 55th minute when a cross was inadvertently deflected by Nick Hagglund into the TFC net. Toronto responded 10 minutes later when Mo Babouli connected with the bouncing ball, slotting it past Ryan Meara to tie the game.
