MLS admits refereeing mistakes
August 11, 2016
In a rarity of enormous proportions, MLS acknowledged the idiotic mistakes that cost Metro two points in its 2:2 tie with LA last weekend. "We reviewed the New York-LA game and concluded that there had been two missed penalty kick calls late in the game," said MLS VP of Competition (and disgraced former RBNY Sporting Director) Jeff Agoos. "In addition, the Disciplinary Committee also determined that the foul by Jeff Larentowicz merited a one-game suspension."
The two missed penalty kicks came in the last two minutes of the match, as Alex Muyl and Gonzalo Veron were each clearly taken down in the box. The Larentowicz tackle on Damien Perrinelle will sideline the French defender for at least four weeks.
