Jordan Scarlett drafted in the 3rd round

The New York Red Bulls selected defender Jordan Scarlett (Iona College, No. 61 overall) in the third round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

Scarlett, a native of Bronx, N.Y., and a graduate of Columbus High School, played four years of college soccer with Iona. The defender played a total of 69 games, including 59 starts, and tallied three goals and five assists in his college career.

As a senior, Scarlett was named to the All-MAAC First Team. As a junior, he was voted onto the All-MAAC Second Team, and prior to the start of this season, he was selected to the Preseason All-MAAC First Team.

Scarlett leaves the Iona program having played 1,750 minutes, the 10th highest ever in program history. He was also named to the All-MAAC Academic Team his sophomore, junior and senior years.
