Tonight, Metro played Crew SC and beat then, 2:0. An early goal from the favorite press, a penalty kick that actually found the bottom of the net, and a complete defensive shutdown gave Metro a comfortable win over Crew SC.

Jesse Marsch made only one change to face Crew SC: Sal Zizzo was pulled out with an injury and was replaced with Connor Lade. Unfortunately for Crew SC, they had to deal with an injury their own very early in the game. Crew SC's midfielder Artur had to be replaced after barely a minute in.

Metro broke through against Crew SC in the 11th minute. Felipe send the ball to Sacha Kljestan, who dished off to Kemar Lawrence, who crossed it into the Crew SC penalty box. There, Alex Muyl fought off a Crew SC defender and knocked it in for his second in as many games.

In the 38th minute, Daniel Royer started and ended the play that would double Metro's lead against Crew SC. First, the Austrian midfielder and sprung Bradley Wright-Phillips, with the Englishman bringing the ball into the Crew SC's box. There, BWP was brought down by Crew SC defender Alex Crognale. With questions of who would take the PK lingering in the air, Royer blasted the ball off the fingertips of Crew SC goalkeeper Zack Steffen and into the net.

Metro defense had little problems with Crew SC attackers, with Aurelien Collin and Aaron Long starting to prove themselves as a steady tandem. After allowing Crew SC some possession early in the second half, Metro began to take over, and had a number of chances to score the third. The best opportunity came after a terrific spin move by sub Derrick Etienne, but, sadly, his follow-up shot stopped before crossing the Crew SC goal line.

With the shutout over Crew SC, Luis Robles and the Metro defense still haven't allowed a goal at home all regular season. Tougher opponents than Crew SC await... let's hope Metro can keep the streak going.

Lineup: Robles, Lawrence, Long, Collin, Lade, Adams, Martins, Kljestan, Royer, Muyl, Wright-Phillips. Subs: Etienne, Gulbrandsen, Davis.
