The most important games in Metro history

There's a rather important game coming up... Perhaps you are aware? But HOW important is it? Where does it rank in the annals of Metro history? Well, let's go down the top 10, even if some of these memories won't exactly be enjoyable...
10) November 8, 2014: DC United 2, New York 1 (Playoff quarterfinal)
We start with a loss, but what a loss! The DC monkey was finally slain as Metro advanced past the arch-rivals for the first time in history. The away leg came after Metro won 2:0 at home behind goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Peguy Luyindula on assists from Thierry Henry. In DC, Henry pulled the strings, Luyindula struck again, and happiness ensued.
9) November 29, 2015: New York 1, Columbus 0 (Playoff semifinal)
The opening leg ended 2:0 in Columbus, but Metro had the chance to make the MLS Cup at home. A dour, boring game ensued, with a late goal from Anatole Abang making it closer than it was. Oh, and BWP hit the post in injury time. Damn.
8) November 29, 2014: New England 2, New York 2 (Playoff semifinal)
Again, the opening leg was a loss, 2:1 at home, a game marked a hideous non-call on Rev hack Jermaine Jones. Metro crawled back to even the series 3:3 behind goals from Tim Cahill and Luyindula, but the defense fell asleep, allowing the go-ahead goal. Henry couldn't rise the troops in what would prove to be his final game. Damn.
7) October 6, 2000: Chicago 3, MetroStars 2 (Playoff semifinal)
Metro lost the first leg, won the return, and it was now winner-take-all in the old first-to-five-points series. Chicago scored twice, Adolfo Valencia responded twice, and the had a third called back after a terrible, awful, disgusting passive offside call that still pisses us off to this day. Oh, and then Ante Razov scored, potentially offside himself, denying Metro MLS Cup. Damn.
6) November 16, 2008: Salt Lake 0, New York 1 (Playoff semifinal)
The only winner-take-all MLS Cup semifinal Metro ever played happened in Salt Lake. An early Dave van den Bergh goal off a feed from John Wolyniec was followed by epic defending, good luck, awful RSL misses, and blessed woodwork. Metro made its first (so far, only) MLS Cup.
5) October 25, 2015: Chicago 1, New York 2 (Supporters Shield)
Somewhat anticlimactic, when compared to the one two years prior, but Metro did take its second major trophy ever by going to Chicago and winning where they rarely do. BWP opened the scoring, Sacha Kljestan added a PK, and Metro held on for the Shield.
4) October 15, 2003: MetroStars 0, Chicago 1 (Open Cup final)
The first final in team history ended in major disappointment. Metro offense no-showed, the defense had one major breakdown, which was enough for the Fire's Damani Ralph to give his team the win. Damn.

2) October 27, 2013: New York 5, Chicago 2 (Supporters Shield)
Chicago went up early, but Henry responded with a wonder goal, and Metro poured it on in the second half, with goals by Ibrahim Sekagya, Lloyd Sam, Eric Alexander, and Johnny Steele. Pure, unadulterated joy.
1) November 23, 2008: Columbus 3, New York 1 (MLS Cup)
Damn.
