The MetroStars rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to defeat Argentine power Boca Juniors, 3-2, in an international club exhibition. Rodrigo Faria scored two goals, including the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 71st minute, and rookie and South Jersey product Jeff Moore scored the other to give the MetroStars the comeback win against Boca Juniors, who are in the United States for preseason training and various exhibitions.

Boca Juniors, who have won the last two completed editions of the Copa Libertadores, jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals by Marcelo Delgado and Ariel Carreno.

In the 30th minute, Delgado took a feed just inside the box from Carreno and beat Tim Howard for the opening score. Two minutes later, Omar Perez found Carreno cutting behind the defense to slot home the second goal.

The MetroStars responded quickly to score their first goal just two minutes later. On a restart from midfield, rookie Brad Davis sent a high cross into the penalty box area, where Faria leaped high over goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero to flick a header into the right corner to cut the lead to 2-1.

In the second half, Moore scored his first goal in a MetroStars uniform and the most impressive goal of the evening -- when he took a low centering pass from Mamadou Diallo with his back to the goalkeeper and back-heeled a shot with his left foot for the tying goal.

The MetroStars scored the winner in the 71st minute when defender Nicolas Burdisso bumped Faria hard from the penalty spot to draw the immediate PK call from referee Alex Prus. Faria took the attempt and nailed it into the upper left corner for the game-winner.
