A year ago, captain Dax McCarty was sold to Chicago for a pittance. Now, captain Sacha Kljestan could be departing as well.

According to Kristian Dyer in Metro, "Los Angeles Football Club and the Red Bulls are closing in on a deal to send the midfielder to the expansion side. Red Bulls would receive allocation money were a deal to be finalized. The amount is believed to be more than the $400,000 received for McCarty last year."

Kljestan would be reunited with ex-Metro coach Bob Bradley, who drafted him for LA's original second club, Chivas USA, back in 2006.

Update: Dyer is reporting that "while LAFC remains a strong candidate to land Kljestan, other teams are stepping in with interest." Minnesota is now listed as one such team.
