Whenever a sporting event produces an unlikely result, scribes are quick to employ some variation of the cliche "that's why they play the games" in their commentary.
File this one under "why did they bother?"
A criminally unambitious Worms side bunkered for a cheap road point, Metro proved incapable of breaking through the opposition defense yet again, and both teams appeared lethargic in oppressively humid conditions.
The game was summarized neatly by CJ Sapong's penalty attempt in the 53rd minute, a sorry miss well wide of Ryan Meara's left post.
In the end, everyone got exactly what they deserved from this game... except the paying fans who probably wish they had spent their time doing just about anything else.
