Kaku wants Club America
January 24, 2019

Oh, Kaku, Kaku, Kaku...

After days of not-so-cryptic social media posts, Alejandro Romero Gamarra has sounded off on his desire to move to Club America. In an interview on ESPN Deportes, he said the following, as translated by Dave Martinez:

"We started in a good manner bringing an offer that was superior to what they paid for me. We want [RBNY] to make money and recoup what we invested, but the price is unreasonable.

Going to Liga MX is an important part of my career. They are an enormous club with a lot of history and those are the challenges that motivate me.

I train hard to be personally prepared, because if I leave or stay, you always have to be prepared, negotiations aside. We are doing all we can with my agent to move it along in good faith."

Challenges that motivate you, Kaku? Bringing the first title to a club and its long-suffering fans is not enough of a challenge? Oh well...

Reportedly, Red Bull's asking price is around $12 million. He was purchased last year for a reported $6.2 million, with former club Huracan retaining 20% of ownership.
