New York Red Bulls II snapped a seven-game losing streak and dealt another blow to Hartford Athletic's postseason hopes with a 2-0 victory at MSU Soccer Park on Saturday night.
In the 12th minute, the hosts took the lead as Omar Sowe laid off a pass in midfield that opened up space for Jake LaCava to break forward into the left channel. After reaching the penalty area, the young forward fired into the right corner of the net.
In the second minute of stoppage time, Serge Ngoma put the game away for Red Bulls II. He caught Hartford with numbers up and stole possession in the center circle for a breakaway before coolly slotting home into the right side of the net to seal all three points.
