New York Red Bulls II's Luther Archimede and Loudoun United's Ted Ku-DiPietro and Gaoussou Samake each had a goal and assist as their sides played to an entertaining 3-3 draw on Thursday night at MSU Soccer Park.
In the fourth minute, Loudoun took the lead, as Ku-DiPietro cut past a pair of defenders to his left before burying a low shot. In the 20th minute, as Ku-DiPietro threaded a low cross to the top of the six-yard area that was tucked home by Jackson Hopkins.
The hosts pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 37th minute. Sowe was brought down in the box by Loudoun goalkeeper Jonathan Mennell and then stepped up himself to shoot low into the left corner from the spot.
Archimede found the net 10 minutes into the second half. A nice cross from the top-right edge of the penalty area was sent by Kyle Zajec to the back post. Archimede headed it back across goal and into the right corner of the net. Two minutes later, Loudoun regained the lead as Samake shot low into the left corner of the net. In the 58th minute, Red Bulls II pulled level again. Archmede headed into the path of Mathias Jorgensen for a beautiful finish into the top-left corner of the net from the top of the penalty area.
