New York Red Bulls II and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC played to a 2-2 draw on Saturday, August 20, at Highmark Stadium.
Pittsburgh opened the scoring in the 21st minute. After a ball was sent into the box, Russell Cicerone headed the ball back to the center of the box, where Robbie Mertz ripped a shot into the net. The home side doubled their advantage in the 42nd minute, as Mekeil Williams headed in a corner kick from Kenardo Forbes.
New York cut the deficit in half in the 44th minute, as O'Vonte Mullings made a run down the near edge of the box and sent in a low ball that was immediately shot by John Murphy.
Red Bulls II evened the score in the 56th minute, as Jordan Adebayo-Smith made a long run down the center of the field, drew multiple defenders, and played a ball to Wiki Carmona, who sent a low shot into the back of the net.
