Metro opened the 2024 Coachella Valley Invitational with a 2:2 tie against St. Louis SC in the first-ever meeting of any kind between the two teams.
Bradley Carnell's men opened the scoring Ryan Meara lost the ball in the sun on the first-half howler. Dante Vanzeir tied it after the break on a feed from Emil Forsberg. St. Louis went ahead again on a penalty kick midway through the second half. In the dying minutes of the game, Julian Hall intercepted the ball and was taken down at the edge of the box. Wiki Carmona converted the penalty to tie the game.
"Very good mentality of the whole team, of the whole group. We are satisfied, but we know we have to improve," said Sandro Schwarz.
