New York Red Bulls II fell to the Carolina Core FC 4-2 in MLS NEXT Pro action at Truist Point Stadium, in High Point, NC on Sunday, September 1.
The Red Bulls opened the scoring in the 9th minute. Tanner Rosborough sent the ball through to Rafael Mosquera who hammered a shot that took a deflection off of Carolina Core FC goalkeeper. Julian Hall followed the rebound to give the Red Bulls the early lead.
Red Bulls II struck again in the 28th minute when defender Curtis Ofori laced a shot from the top of the box into the bottom left corner to give the side a 2-0 lead.
Carolina Core FC started the second half strong, scoring two goals in 13 minutes to tie the match at two. In the 82nd minute, Carolina was awarded a penalty kick and Facundo Canete slotted it into the bottom right hand corner. Canete sealed the deal with a goal in the 10th minute of stoppage time.
