We're not mad that Metro lost the game. We've seen them lose games. We're not bad that Tom Barlow scored. Trading him away was obviously the right move. We're not mad because they've only one once in... well, we lost count. Whatever.

We're mad because it's all completely irrelevant. There are five games left in the regular season now. Great! Win some, lose some, tie (certainly!) some... what's the end result? Repeat: "I was not told that I should become champions straight away". That's why we're mad.

Of course, this madness -- at the organization as a whole, at Red Bull New York as an entity -- is the one feeling we have left. We watched these mostly lifeless 90+ minutes against Chicago. Yeah, they lost 2:1. So what?

So, yeah, Barlow scored, his first goal for the Fire, after an easy tap-in into the empty net. Noah Eile's bad header setup the Fire for a shot that Carlos Coronel saved but was left for the "Big, Strong, Fast" striker for the easiest of finishes. Good for him. We would never wish ill on Barlow.

So, yeah, Sandro Schwarz put in Dennis Gjengaar and Vanzeir at the break, and the two immediately combined for the equalizer. Vanzeir fought off a defender, took the ball upfield and crossed it in front of the net. There, Gjengaar acrobatically redirected it in. Was it to be another one of those ties?

It wasn't, as in the 75th, Metro failed to clear the corner, and... bla, bla, bla. Rinse, repeat. Whatever.

Maybe the true madness is continuing to care about this team.

Lineup: Coronel, Tolkin, Eile, Reyes, Nealis, Edelman, Carballo, Stroud, Harper, Morgan, Manoel. Subs: Gjengaar, Vanzeir, Ngoma, Hall, Burke.
