Ten Best: Metro midfielders (update)
November 11, 2011
Since we last looked at the ten best midfielders in Metro history, an update has to be made. For descriptions of the initial top ten, see the original article, as well as two updates.
10) Mark Chung, 1999-2001
9) Mark Lisi, 2002-06
8) Seth Stammler, 2004-10
Stammler departed Metro after seven seasons and 157 games, starting in almost every position on the field. He is in rare company as only having played for one professional team -- Metro.
7) Eddie Gaven, 2003-05
6) Tab Ramos, 1996-2002
5) Dane Richards, 2007- If only naysayers had their way, Richards would have been shipped out years ago. But the Jamaican speedster just keeps getting better and better, now near the top of almost all Metro statistical categories. And we will never, ever forget his playoff game in Houston.
4) Roberto Donadoni, 1996-97
3) Dave van den Bergh, 2007-08
2) Joel Lindpere, 2010- Yes, he is second already. Two years, two MetroFanatic Player of the Year awards, one Team MVP... A workhorse, a lynchpin, a fighter, a record-setter, and when all is said in done, will go down as one of the most beloved players in team history.
1) Amado Guevara, 2003-06
